How is Functional Medicine different from Traditional Medicine?Unlike traditional medicine, which often treats symptoms with medications or surgeries, leading to long-term, costly care, functional medicine seeks to understand and address the underlying factors contributing to health issues and heal the root cause. It emphasizes a holistic approach, aiming to promote wellness and preventative care rather than just managing disease. Our patients find this investment in themselves to be invaluable and life changing.
-
How Many Sessions Are Needed?Your wellness journey begins with an initial consultation. Once booked, we will arrange for comprehensive lab work to be completed prior to your appointment. During your visit, we will review your health history, goals, current concerns, and lab results to craft a personalized plan designed to optimize your health. Our expert providers will determine if additional tests, such as GI mapping or allergy testing, are necessary. If so, a follow-up visit will be scheduled within a month to review these results and further refine your wellness plan. Most patients continue with follow-up appointments every 3 to 6 months, as needed, until their health goals are fully achieved.
-
How Long Does It Take to See Results? The timeline for seeing results with functional medicine varies depending on the complexity of your health issues, your adherence to the treatment plan, and other factors. While some patients experience improvements in symptoms relatively quickly, achieving long-term wellness often requires ongoing commitment and patience.
-
In What States Do You See Patients? At the moment, our skilled practitioners are only licensed to provide medical services to patients residing in Texas, although we plan to broaden our reach in the future.
-
Do You Treat Children? We currently provide medical care for patients aged 16 and older. Expanding our services to include pediatric care is part of our future plans.

How Does Your Lab Process Work? How do labs work with my consultation? After booking your consultation, we will send you a lab order for the necessary testing. You’ll take this order to any Labcorp location for your blood draw. Do I have to pay for labs separately? Yes, lab testing is billed separately from your consultation. Most patients use their insurance to cover labs, but if you prefer to pay out of pocket, we offer discounted cash-pay lab options. What if I don’t have insurance or don’t want to use it? We provide discounted cash-pay lab pricing, which is significantly lower than standard lab rates. You can find this pricing on our detailed fees page. You also have the option to finance your labs interest-free for 3 months if needed. When should I complete my labs? Please complete your lab work at least 4 days before your appointment so we have your results ready to review during your consultation. Are there any special instructions for my labs? Some tests require fasting (8-12 hours) or temporary discontinuation of certain supplements. Biotin: Discontinue 3 days before your blood draw, as it can interfere with some lab results. Fasting tests: If your order includes glucose, insulin, or lipids, you may need to fast for 8-12 hours (water is fine). Other specific instructions will be listed on your lab order, so be sure to review it before your appointment. Where do I go to get my labs done? You can go to any Labcorp location for your blood draw. Once we send you the lab order, simply schedule an appointment or walk in at your convenience. What if I have more questions about my lab order? If you have any questions about your lab order, coverage, or payment options, feel free to contact us at 469-521-1112, and we’ll be happy to help!
